Large migrant groups continue to illegally cross the Rio Grande to enter the United States during Christmas.
The groups, mainly from countries like Venezuela arrived to the Mexican border city of Piedras Negras, Coahuila with the goal of illegally entering the United States and fraudulently seek asylum.
The city of Eagle Pass, TX has seen a massive surge of illegal immigration in the past couple of weeks, forcing CBP units to use the entire location underneath the International Bridge as a makeshift apprehension site.
Thousands of people have been arriving to the border city (in many cases per day) as local units have been overwhelmed.
Reports continue arriving of more migrant caravans leaving Tapachula, Mexico as they make their way north to the United States.
CBP sources have told media outlets that December is going to surpass November as the month with the highest amount of encounters of illegal immigrants.
