According to a CBS report, the Public Security department in Michoacán said there were no immediate reports of significant damage in that state. They only reported minor damage consisting of some cracks in buildings in the town of Coalcoman.
Mexico City Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum tweeted that there were no reports of damage in the city as of 1:17 pm.
Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador tweeted that he was informed by the Secretary of the Navy José Rafael Ojeda Durán that a person died due to the fall of a fence in a shopping center in Manzanillo, Colima. He also tweeted that he spoke with Coahuila governor Indira Vizcaíno Silva, where told him she lacks information from Comala and Tecomán due to interrupted communications.
September 19th is seen as a dark day to many Mexicans, especially those in the capital city due to the 1985 Mexico City earthquake that killed over 10,000 people and the 2017 Mexico City earthquake that killed at least 98 people.
